Conscious and responsible use of resources is important to us. That is why we pay particular attention at Riders Hotel to constantly developing our Greenstyle vision and expanding its potential.

The hotel group Responsible Hotels of Switzerland unites the lead businesses of ecological and social sustainability. The Responsible Hotels of Switzerland take responsibility and want to give guests with high demands for responsible travel a solution. Each hotel lives a company-specific, ecological and social sustainability philosophy.

Solar energy: photovoltaics on the roof

100% of the total energy consumption is covered with renewable energy. We obtain 10% (25,000 kWh) through solar energy from the roof, and the rest with hydroelectric power from Switzerland. The Weisse Arena Group has set itself the goal of being CO2-neutral by 2030, using no more fossil fuels.

Swisstainable sustainability program

We are part of the sustainability program Swisstainable and classified on Level III - leading. The sustainability program Swisstainable unites businesses and organizations along the entire Swiss tourism sector. With our participation we commit ourselves to a continuous sustainable business development, pursue measures in the field of sustainability and thus make a concrete contribution to a sustainable Swiss tourism.

Natural soaps from Söder

Throughout the hotel we use 100% natural soaps and shampoo from Switzerland from our friends from Söder.

Kitro Food Waste

We measure foodwaste waste in order to continuously improve and thus produce less waste.

Wine

We have only wines in our assortment, which are marked with the label "Vinatur". Vinatur - the Smith&Smith label stands for sustainable wines and minimal intervention.

Vegetarian cuisine

In the Riders Restaurant we serve exclusively vegetarian menus made from fresh, regional ingredients in season.

Greenstyle levy: environmental fringe

When making a reservation, each guest can voluntarily donate CHF 1 per night to our "Greenstyle Fund." Fifty percent of this fund goes to the "Greenstyle Foundation," which promotes sustainability projects throughout the region, and 50% is invested directly in environmental projects run by hotels and restaurants, with the amount doubled.

The Greenstyle Book

Since 2010, Greenstyle has stood for the sustainability concept of the Weissen Arena Group, to which Riders Hotel also belongs. Since then, numerous larger and smaller measures in the area of sustainability have been implemented every year. The ten-year Greenstyle anniversary provided the impetus for the new Greenstyle book "How to run a sustainable alpine destination" to share experiences and visions. It also includes numerous measures and projects that have been implemented at Riders Hotel .
